Snyder's Liquitote is the original stainless steel IBC tote — the tank that started this whole category more than 60 years ago as a smarter answer to the 55-gallon drum. One 550-gallon Liquitote does the job of ten drums, and six decades on it's still the leading stainless tote tank on the market. At Tank Depot we stock new Liquitote IBCs in 10-gauge, 304 stainless steel with a 2B finish, UN31A-qualified from 120 all the way to 793 gallons — ready for the liquids a poly tote simply can't carry safely.
DOT UN31A permits shipment of Packing Group II and III flammable and combustible liquids by road, rail, sea, and air. Why it matters: solvents, thinners, and fuels a poly IBC isn't certified to transport travel legally in a Liquitote.
304 stainless shrugs off the corrosion and stress-cracking that retire plastic totes early. Why it matters: reactive chemistries need a non-reactive, non-degrading wall you can trust load after load.
The 2B interior and patented one-piece sloped bottom drain clean and complete, with no low corner trapping product. Why it matters: every gallon of expensive coating leaves the tank instead of going to waste or cross-contaminating the next fill.
Steel handles hydrocarbons and heat that soften and warp plastic. Why it matters: demanding, high-temperature service is exactly where stainless pulls ahead.
A smooth 2B stainless interior wipes down and sanitizes cleanly between products. Why it matters: purity between batches protects both product and reputation.
High-purity, easy-to-clean stainless meets the cleanliness bar these industries live by. Why it matters: trace carryover isn't an option, and stainless is the material that earns that trust.
When choosing the right LiquiTote, consider the capacity, drain configuration, gasket material, and the specific requirements of the liquid you are handling. Smaller 120–180 gallon models are well suited for tight footprints and heavier specific-gravity products, while 300–450 gallon tanks work well for standard bulk applications. Larger 550–793 gallon options help consolidate more product into each handling cycle—a single 550-gallon tote can replace ten 55-gallon drums. Side-drain tanks include a full-length valve guard and are ideal for wall-adjacent staging, while center-drain configurations, including front-center and true-center designs, support more complete gravity drainage and centered dosing or dispensing setups. EPDM gaskets are standard, but alternative gasket materials are available for more aggressive chemistries and can be matched to your specific product. Stainless steel is also a better choice when handling flammable or combustible liquids, using hot-fill or steam/wash-down processes, or protecting high-purity products. For applications requiring 316 stainless steel, heating jackets, sanitary finishes, or fully customized configurations, consider our Supertainer steel IBCs, built on the same UN31A platform and engineered to your specifications.
